Explore two of the city’s most-loved streets.

Heaton is home to two of the city’s most-loved and eclectic streets, Heaton Road and Chillingham Road. When you visit Heaton Road you should arrive with your cutlery and an appetite. It’s lined with a variety of eateries, you could easily have your breakfast, lunch, and evening meal all on the same road. Heaton Road is like a rainbow, each colour is an independent shop, café, or restaurant. Every business has its own personality and quirkiness to it, take Fork in The Rose for example, where you can grab a coffee and a plant at the same time. Block and Bottle is a traditional butcher with a modern twist. Choose from a wide selection of locally-sourced meats, over 150 craft and real ales and fresh produce and bread.

Discover a hive of foodie activity.

Chillingham Road is both a handy high street and a culinary mecca, so if you don’t feel like cooking or want to try a new cuisine get yourself to Chilli Road! Make yourself at home in NEST Dining, where the atmosphere makes heading out for fine dining feel like you’re popping to a friend’s house. This neighbourhood restaurant uses the best seasonal ingredients and local produce as much as possible. If you fancy trying the healthy route, go to the Naked Deli, you will not find anything with hidden E numbers or chemicals in. They want to offer you food that is clean and delicious. Every city needs its foodie quarter and Heaton is definitely ours, so hop on a metro and fill your boots!
